Verified Board Notes

Initial Layout Geometry
A red-cloaked figure in profile with a spiky crest, white-and-pink face and robe, and a yellow ring with gray chain links; dashed dark-red tiers 20/30/20/30/20 on the right. Three supply columns: orange 20, yellow 10, red 20, each over a black question-mark bobbin.
Goal / Target Area
Clear the red crest and cloak, the white-and-pink face and robe, the yellow ring with its gray chain and orange flecks, and the five dashed tiers on the right.
Opening Moves
Red 20 from column three, then the dark red 50 it reveals, pink 10 from the same column, yellow 10 from column two and the red 30 under it.
Danger Zone
Through the middle, the big red bobbins, dark reds on the tiers, black and orange all circle at once and the track fills up again and again. Send only when one of them runs out.
Unique Mechanics
Black question-mark bobbins hide their color until they reach the top of a column. The dashed dark-red tiers on the right count down only as dark-red bobbins pull them.

Storage: the five slots where returning bobbins park until their color is reachable again.

Quick Tips for Level 861

  • Use the third column first: red 20 reveals dark red 50, which starts on both the cloak and the dashed tiers.
  • Keep orange 20 in the first column until the ring and chain are exposed; orange only has a few flecks there.
  • Feed the dashed tiers with dark red only; other reds pass them by.

How to Solve Yarn Loop Level 861 — Full Solution

  1. The board is a red-cloaked figure in profile with a spiky red crest, a white-and-pink face and robe, a small yellow flower mark, and a yellow ring with gray chain links on its shoulder. A column of dashed dark-red tiers marked 20, 30, 20, 30 and 20 stands to the right. Supply has three columns: orange 20, yellow 10 and red 20 on top, each with a black question-mark bobbin underneath.
  2. Send red 20 from the third column into the red crest and head. The question-mark bobbin under it rises and turns out to be dark red 50.
  3. Send dark red 50 next. It works the dark-red shading in the cloak and starts pulling the dashed tiers, so the bottom 20 tier begins counting down. Follow it with the pink 10 that surfaces in the same column for the pink face and robe edge.
  4. Send yellow 10 from the second column into the yellow ring. The bobbin beneath it shows red 30; send it into the bright red of the cloak. A red remainder may have to wait in storage when no red stitch faces the track.
  5. Send white 20 into the face and the white robe stripes, then bring the parked red back once white has opened the front of the cloak.
  6. Keep the dark reds coming as the third column reveals them (dark red 50, 40 and 20s). They take the tiers down from 20/30/20/30 to single digits while pink 20s and white 10 thin the robe. The track fills up here; wait for one bobbin to run out before the next send.
  7. Send orange 20 from the first column into the orange flecks around the chain, then the gray and black bobbins into the gray chain links and the dark patch inside the ring. A short gray remainder waits in storage until the last links are exposed.
  8. With the big red bobbins working the cloak and dark red still pulling the tiers, the track fills up several times. Send only when a slot frees; the cloak shrinks into a narrow diagonal strip.
  9. Once the tiers are down to the last two (14 and 4), send the final dark red against them and use the yellow 10 on the remaining ring pieces.
  10. Send the dark red 40 from the last question-mark bobbin, then let red, white and pink finish the last cloak, face and robe stitches. Send the parked yellow 2 back for the last yellow flecks.
  11. Only one red stitch remains in the middle of the board. Let the red bobbin with 1 left reach it.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Opening with orange 20, which has almost nothing to pull until the chain area opens.
  • Sending another red while the track is full during the long cloak stretch.
  • Forgetting the dashed tiers on the right; they need dark red even after the figure is mostly gone.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I send first in Level 861?

Red 20 from the third column. The question-mark bobbin below it becomes dark red 50, which you send next.

  • What are the dashed bars with numbers on the right?

They are tiers of dark-red stitches (20, 30, 20, 30, 20). Their numbers drop as dark-red bobbins pull them, and they must reach zero for the board to clear.

  • When should I send the orange 20 in Level 861?

Leave it in the first column until the ring and chain area opens, because orange only has a few flecks around the gray chain. Send it after the reds, yellow and white have opened the figure, then follow with the gray and black bobbins for the chain links.
