Initial Layout Geometry
A bare black tree with brown highlights stands in front of a huge yellow full moon on a purple night sky. Orange and red leaves drift around it, two dark gravestones sit at the lower left and a gravestone with a white cross at the lower right, red ground strips run along the bottom and two short silver chains hang below the canopy. Five supply columns show red 10, black 40, navy 10, yellow 50 and white 10 on top; columns one and five hide '?' bobbins and columns two, three and four sit on crates marked 3, 4 and 3. Storage starts with five empty slots and the track is empty.
Goal / Target Area
Clear the purple sky and the yellow moon behind the tree, the black trunk and branches with their brown highlights, the gravestones, red ground strips and scattered leaves, and the two silver chains under the canopy.
Opening Moves
Black 40 from column two goes first, then navy 10 from column three; the crates below push up maroon 10 and yellow 40. Maroon 10 follows, then yellow 50 from column four, red 10 from column one and white 10 from column five, with black parking at 24 and yellow at 48 before going back out.
Danger Zone
Storage peaks at four slots, for example the yellow 16 / purple 0 pair with maroon 3 and orange 1. Near the end brown 8s, navy 1 and the metal 4 park, storage turns red and only one track place is free; re-send parked pairs before taking anything new.
Unique Mechanics
Crates marked 3, 4 and 3 under columns two, three and four push up a new bobbin each time the one above leaves. Hidden '?' bobbins reveal their color at the front. Link bars join brown 10 with navy 10, purple 30 with yellow 50, purple 10 with purple 30, and later purple 30, yellow 50 and black 30 in a linked chain of three. The silver chains are metal knit that only the striped metal bobbin removes.

Storage: the five slots where returning bobbins park until their color is reachable again. Linked: bobbins joined by a bar leave together and take one track place each.

Quick Tips for Level 906

  • The crates marked 3, 4 and 3 under columns two, three and four hold bobbins: each time the bobbin above a crate leaves, the crate pushes up a new one and its number drops by one. Count them before you commit, because column two's crate hands out maroon 10, orange 10 and white 10 in turn.
  • Several bobbins are linked: brown 10 to navy 10, purple 30 to yellow 50, purple 10 to purple 30, and later a linked chain of three made of purple 30, yellow 50 and black 30. A linked piece showing 0 still rides with its partners, so it only clears when the whole group is used up.
  • The two silver chains hanging from the branches are metal knit. Only the striped metal 10 that surfaces late in column three removes them, so leave a storage slot for it if it comes back with a few left.

How to Solve Yarn Loop Level 906 — Full Solution

  1. Send black 40 from column two first for the black graves and tree base; its crate pushes up a maroon 10. Columns one and five hide '?' bobbins underneath, so their next colors are a surprise.
  2. Send navy 10 from column three for the dark blue night pixels along the top edge. That crate drops from 4 to 3 and pushes up a yellow 40, so column three now offers a second yellow.
  3. Send the maroon 10 from column two for the dark red ground strips at the bottom. Column two's crate falls to 1 and shows an orange 10. Black comes back to storage with 24 left; re-send it as soon as a place opens so the graves keep shrinking.
  4. Send yellow 50 from column four onto the open moon; it parks once almost untouched and goes back out, and the column four crate shows a yellow 40 behind it. Then send red 10 from column one for the red leaves and the red ground strips along the bottom.
  5. Column one's '?' turns out to be a brown 10 with another red 10 beneath it. Send the white 10 from column five for the white cross and the white specks in the sky; it parks at 4 and finishes on a later pass. Column five then offers purple 30 with black 20 behind it.
  6. Send purple 30 and black 20 from column five for the purple sky and the dark lower branches, then the orange 10 from column two for the orange leaves. Expect the track to be full for long stretches from here; only take a new bobbin when one leaves the track.
  7. Column two's crate gives up its last bobbin, a white 10, and is replaced by a brown 10 linked to a navy 10 below. Send the brown and navy pair together for the brown branch highlights and the dark blue pixels; it returns as brown 0 with navy still loaded, so re-send it until navy is used up.
  8. Work the right half of the board next: the yellow 40s from columns three and four on the moon's right side, brown 10s for the trunk highlights, and the black 50 that surfaces in column three for the thick trunk.
  9. A purple 30 in column three then links to the yellow 50 on top of column four. Send the pair together for the purple sky and moon edge; it comes back as yellow 16 with purple 0. Storage now peaks at four of its five slots, so re-send the parked pairs before taking anything new, or the last slot goes too.
  10. A purple 10 linked to a purple 30 reaches the front of columns one and two; send it for the purple sky, and it parks briefly with both pieces at 0. Late in the level column three reveals the striped metal 10. Send it at the silver chains below the canopy; it returns to storage at 4 and goes back out to finish them.
  11. Send the linked chain of three, purple 30, yellow 50 and black 30, when all three reach the front. It sweeps the purple and yellow edge on the left and comes back with purple and black at 0 and yellow 22; re-send it as places open.
  12. Finish with what is left in supply: the last yellow 50, the black 30s, a purple 30 and orange 10. They clear the last crescent of yellow moon and purple sky on the left and the final black stubs of the trunk; the last black bobbin leaves the board still showing 1.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Sending yellow 50 and the other long yellow bobbins while the moon is still mostly covered by branches, which keeps a big leftover parked in storage and fills the track for a long stretch.
  • Treating brown 0 or purple 0 in storage as finished; brown 0 is linked to a navy and the parked purple 0 to a yellow that still have yarn to give, so the pair has to be re-sent.
  • Using up the storage slots before the metal 10 surfaces, so it has nowhere to park when it returns at 4 and the chains cannot be finished.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the crates marked 3, 4 and 3 under the supply in Yarn Loop Level 906?

They hold bobbins. Column two's crate starts at 3 and pushes up maroon 10, orange 10 and white 10 each time the bobbin above it leaves; column three starts at 4 and column four at 3.

  • Why can't I clear the silver chains hanging from the tree in Level 906?

They are metal knit. Only the striped metal 10 that appears late in column three removes them; it usually needs two sends, parking once with 4 left.

  • Why does the brown 10 and navy 10 pair keep coming back from storage in Level 906?

Brown empties first but stays linked to a navy with yarn left, so the pair rides along until navy is used up. The purple 30 tied to a yellow 50 behaves the same way: the empty piece keeps returning with its partner.
