Yarn Loop level guide
Yarn Loop Level 872 Walkthrough
Clear a woven basket of red tomatoes, an orange pumpkin and green leaves sitting on olive grass, freeing two keys on the board to open padlocked supply bobbins.
Verified Board Notes
- Initial Layout Geometry
- A brown woven basket with a beige-highlighted handle holds red tomatoes, an orange pumpkin and bright and dark green leaves. A maroon cloth hangs over its left side and olive grass fills both lower corners. A gold key is stitched into the basket's left side, and a purple tile with a keyhole sits at the upper right. The supply has four columns, two blue numbered crates (3 and 3) and two padlocked bobbins.
- Goal / Target Area
- The basket outline, maroon cloth and grass come off first, then the basket body and handle, then the tomatoes and leaves. The orange pumpkin and the purple lock tile are last.
- Opening Moves
- Brown 10 from the second column and the second brown 10 its crate pushes up, olive 20 from the first column, then maroon 20 from the third. After that, the crate bobbins and the linked brown 30 / olive 20 pair work the basket outline and grass.
- Danger Zone
- The middle stretch, when red, dark green and green leftovers of 1 to 7 circle the tomatoes and leaves with the track full or one place from full. Let pieces run out before adding new supply.
- Unique Mechanics
- Two padlocked supply bobbins open only when their keys are freed from the board: one key is stitched into the basket and the other sits inside the purple keyhole tile. Two numbered crates push up a new bobbin each time the spot above them empties. Several bobbins are linked pairs or a three-piece chain.
Storage: the five slots where returning bobbins park until their color is reachable again. Linked: bobbins joined by a bar leave together and take one track place each.
Quick Tips for Level 872
- Clear the stitches around the key in the basket early; it opens a padlocked beige 10 you need for the handle highlights.
- The purple keyhole tile is cleared by purple 10, and that releases the second key.
- Before you send an orange / beige pair, check that both the pumpkin and a beige patch can be reached.
How to Solve Yarn Loop Level 872 — Full Solution
- Send the brown 10 at the top of the second supply column, then the second brown 10 that the crate below it pushes up. Both work the dark brown outline of the basket and its handle. Send the olive 20 from the top of the first column for the grass, then the maroon 20 from the third column for the maroon cloth that drapes over the basket's left side and front. Part of the maroon returns to storage at first.
- The two blue numbered crates in the middle columns start at 3. Each time the spot above a crate empties, it pushes up a new bobbin (brown, olive, light brown and beige 10s and 20s) and its number drops. Use these on the basket body and handle as they appear.
- Send the linked brown 30 / olive 20 pair from the first column. Olive eats the olive grass on both lower corners while brown keeps working the basket outline. Light brown 20 and 30 follow into the light brown weave of the basket body.
- A small gold key is stitched into the left side of the basket. When brown and light brown clear the stitches around it, the key flies down to supply and opens the padlocked bobbin in the second column, which turns out to be a beige 10.
- Send beige 10 and 20 into the beige handle highlights and the pale patches on the basket front. Beige often travels linked to an orange bobbin (orange 10 / beige 10 pairs), so check that the pumpkin or a beige patch is reachable before sending the pair.
- Work the red tomatoes on both sides with red 20 and the linked red / maroon pairs, and send dark green 10 into the dark green stems. A red 7 leftover sits in the first storage slot for a long stretch; leave it parked until more red faces the track.
- Send green 20 into the bright green leaves in the middle of the basket once the tomatoes around them have opened. Dark green and green leftovers of 1 to 6 keep cycling here, which is the busiest part of the level.
- The purple tile with a keyhole at the upper right is the second lock. Send purple 10 into it; the key flies out and unlocks the second padlocked bobbin, in the right column, which becomes a light brown 20.
- Clear the remaining basket weave and grass with the red 10 / brown 30 / olive 20 bobbins, which are linked as one three-piece chain, plus the light brown 20 and 30s. The chain parks in storage as red 2 / brown 15 / olive 0 while its colors wait for targets.
- By the end only the orange pumpkin and a strip of purple remain. Send the last purple 10 into the purple strip and the final orange 20 into the pumpkin, then let it keep lapping until the last orange pixel goes.
Colors in this level:
Brown, Light brown, Beige, Red, Maroon, Orange, Green, Dark green, Olive, Purple
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Treating the purple keyhole tile as decoration; it holds the key for the second padlocked bobbin.
- Sending the red / brown / olive chain while the olive grass is already gone, so it parks with olive at 0.
- Expecting the pumpkin to clear early; it is one of the last areas left on the board.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do the padlocked bobbins open in Level 872?
Each one opens when a key is freed from the board. The key stitched into the basket opens one, and the key inside the purple keyhole tile opens the other once purple 10 clears that tile.
What do the numbered crates in the supply do?
They are the two blue crates in the middle columns, and both start at 3. Each time the spot above one empties, it pushes up a fresh bobbin and its number drops.
Why does the red, brown and olive chain park in storage in Level 872?
Red 10, brown 30 and olive 20 are linked as one three-piece chain, so they always travel together and park as red 2 / brown 15 / olive 0 while their colors wait for targets. Send the chain while olive grass is still showing, and use it on the remaining basket weave and grass.
