Initial Layout Geometry
A large orange face with pink eyelids and brown brows sits beside a yellow drink in a gray glass and a yellow-and-maroon pineapple with green leaves. The picture has a blue background, a beaded strip across the top and a gray-beige table along the bottom. Two covered stands marked 3 sit in the second row of the supply, under columns 2 and 3, and open to more bobbins.
Goal / Target Area
Strip the blue background, the pineapple, the leaves and the glass, then split and clear the orange face, the top bead strip and the table.
Opening Moves
Blue 40 and blue 30 first, then black 10 and blue 20 from the left column. Park olive 10, send brown 20, green 30 and orange 20 from the third column to open its covered stand, and park the early black/gray/orange leftovers until maroon 50 and yellow 30 open the pineapple.
Danger Zone
After the opening, four leftovers can sit in storage while the track is fully free and nothing pulls. Re-sending them does nothing. Later, short brown and yellow pieces circle a full track with no target.
Unique Mechanics
Two covered stands in the supply start at 3 and count down as bobbins leave their column. The column 3 stand opens early to blue 20 and gray 20; the column 2 stand stays shut much longer and opens late to a second blue 20. The pineapple's maroon and yellow are the gate: nothing else on the right side opens until they run.

Storage: the five slots where returning bobbins park until their color is reachable again.

Quick Tips for Level 879

  • Clear the blue background with blue 40 and blue 30 before anything else.
  • When storage holds four leftovers and nothing pulls, send maroon 50 and yellow 30 into the pineapple.
  • Save the long orange bobbins for after the pineapple; they split the face into two halves.

How to Solve Yarn Loop Level 879 — Full Solution

  1. Send blue 40 from the right column and blue 30 from the left column first. Together they strip most of the blue background around the green leaves and down the left edge of the orange face.
  2. Send black 10 and blue 20 from the left column next. Take olive 10 off the second column and park it in storage, because nothing olive is reachable yet. Pink 20 moves up, and the covered stand below it counts down from 3 to 2.
  3. Send brown 20, green 30 and orange 20 from the third column; green works the pineapple's leaves and orange the face's outer edge. Those three sends open the covered stand in column 3, which gives blue 20 and gray 20. Send them into the bead strip across the top and the gray glass rim, and park the black, olive, gray and orange leftovers if they stop pulling.
  4. If the track is empty with four leftovers in storage and nothing pulling, the opening is maroon 50 and yellow 30 from the top row. Send them into the pineapple's maroon pattern and yellow flesh. This is what unlocks the right side.
  5. Send brown into the brown brows and stems on top of the face, and the next green into the remaining leaves. Expect a full track while maroon finishes the pineapple.
  6. Send orange 50 and yellow 30 once the pineapple is mostly gone. Orange cuts a vertical gap through the face and yellow fills the glass. Short brown 4/13 and yellow 4 pieces can circle with no target here; let the long orange work instead of sending more.
  7. Send gray 10 into the glass stem and the gray table. When the second covered stand, in column 2, finally opens, send its blue 20 on the remaining blue beads in the strip across the top. The first covered stand's blue 20 already thinned that strip early on.
  8. Send pink 20 into the pink eyelids and blue 30 into the last blue column on the left. Black 10 and the gray leftovers finish the dark table pixels.
  9. Send green 20 into the last leaf specks, then the orange 30, 40 and 50 bobbins one at a time against the two halves of the face. Send the parked olive 10 once olive pixels are exposed.
  10. Send maroon 30 into the mouth and the last pineapple pixels, then yellow 20 into the glass, plus gray 40 and the blue remainder into the table and beads.
  11. Finish with orange 50, orange 40, beige 20 and brown 20. Orange clears the last orange L-shape while beige and brown take the table and stem remnants.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Re-sending the parked black, olive, gray and orange leftovers before the pineapple opens; they return unchanged.
  • Sending more short brown or yellow pieces while the track is full and those colors have no target.
  • Forgetting the beaded strip across the top; the blue 20s from the two covered stands clear it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I open first in Level 879?

Send blue 40 and blue 30 to strip the blue background, then black 10 and blue 20 from the left column.

  • What do I do when nothing pulls after the opening?

Send maroon 50 and yellow 30 into the pineapple. Its pattern is the gate to the right side of the board.

  • What are the covered stands marked 3 in Level 879?

They sit in the second row of the supply under columns 2 and 3 and count down as bobbins leave their column. The column 3 stand opens early to blue 20 and gray 20, while the column 2 stand stays shut much longer and opens late to a second blue 20 for the bead strip across the top.
