Verified Board Notes

Initial Layout Geometry
A red background with a brown border holds a green-and-white striped shape on the left and a yellow-edged shape covered by a tall red panel on the right. A scissors icon sits above the green shape and a dashed red patch marked 50 is at the top left. Five supply columns hold mostly linked pairs and triple chains.
Goal / Target Area
Clear the background, the border, the striped shape and the dashed 50 patch, let the scissors cut away the red panel, then clear the black-and-white pattern under it.
Opening Moves
Linked black 30 / red 30 and linked white 20 / brown 20 first, then red 20 and green 20 on the open background and green rim.
Danger Zone
The white / red / black triple chain goes out as one unit taking three track places and returns as a chain, so the track can fill up quickly.
Unique Mechanics
The dashed 50 patch counts down as red pulls it. The scissors are a board piece, not a booster: once the stitches around them are cleared they cut away the tall red panel, which hides a black-and-white pattern.

Storage: the five slots where returning bobbins park until their color is reachable again. Linked: bobbins joined by a bar leave together and take one track place each.

Quick Tips for Level 880

  • Black and white have no target at the start; expect the first black and white pairs to come back nearly full.
  • Remember the white / red / black triple chain takes three track places at once.
  • Clear around the scissors to make them cut the red panel; the panel cannot be pulled directly.

How to Solve Yarn Loop Level 880 — Full Solution

  1. Read the board before your first send. A red background with a brown border holds a green-and-white striped shape on the left and a yellow-edged shape on the right, covered by a tall solid red panel. A small scissors icon sits above the green shape, and a dashed red patch marked 50 is at the top left. Most supplies are joined by link bars.
  2. Send the linked black 30 / red 30 pair and the linked white 20 / brown 20 pair. Red and brown eat the outer red and brown border fast, but black and white have nothing to pull yet, so they come back as black 30 / red 0 and white 20 / brown 0.
  3. Send red 20 and green 20 against the open red background and the green rim of the striped shape. Then send the black pair again: black starts working the black outline around the green shape.
  4. Send the white 20 / brown 0 leftover into the white stripes, then the linked red 30 / white 20 pair. Green 20 and the linked yellow 10 / green 30 pair take the green ring, while yellow pulls the yellow edge on the right.
  5. The track fills up quickly here, several times over. Park short remainders such as black 5, dark green 5 and dark green 6, and only bring them back when their color is exposed again.
  6. Send black 30 into the black outline and yellow 30 into the yellow stripes along the right shape. Keep the dark green 5 and yellow 7 in storage until their last pixels show.
  7. Send the triple link of white, red and black. It goes out as one unit taking three track places and returns as a chain (white 13 / red 0 / black 26), so plan for three places, not one. Red 20 starts counting down the dashed 50 patch.
  8. Send red 50 into the dashed patch. It drops through 29 and 20 to 2 and then disappears. Brown 10 and the green / red pairs clear the brown border and the remaining green rungs.
  9. Keep sending the white / red / black chain and the maroon 50 / black 30 / green 30 chain until the stitches around the scissors are gone. The scissors then cut away the tall red panel and reveal a black-and-white pattern under it.
  10. Send olive 20 and the linked yellow 10 / maroon 20 pair into the olive and yellow pixels around the pattern, then black 30 and the white 10s into its black and white squares.
  11. Finish the last black and white squares with the black 3 and white 1 remainders; a dark pixel is the last to go.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Re-sending black or white before their outline or stripes are exposed.
  • Sending the triple chain while the track is nearly full, leaving no room for the next exposed color.
  • Trying to unravel the tall red panel instead of clearing the stitches around the scissors.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the opening for Level 880?

Send the linked black 30 / red 30 and white 20 / brown 20 pairs, then red 20 and green 20 on the open background and the green rim.

  • What do the scissors do?

They are part of the board. Once the stitches around them are gone, the scissors cut away the tall red panel and show a black-and-white pattern underneath.

  • How do I get rid of the dashed 50 patch in Level 880?

It counts down as red pulls it, and a red 20 starts wearing it down. Then send red 50 into the patch; it drops to 2 and then disappears.
