Yarn Loop Level 940 Walkthrough
A patchwork handbag of bright diamonds with an orange and yellow clasp on a striped background, ringed by numbered panels, with frozen bobbins that break open in stages and a yellow 10 that waits in storage almost the whole level.
Verified Board Notes
- Initial Layout Geometry
- A patchwork handbag of green, red, purple, magenta, blue, cyan, navy, orange and dark red diamonds with a dark brown outline sits on a white and gray striped background above a black band. An orange and yellow clasp and a yellow band top the bag. Eight numbered panels sit on the background: salmon 20s in the top corners, dark purple 20 bars on the sides, lavender 20s below them and tan 50s at the bottom. Three supply columns show dark red 20, red 20 and black 40 on top, with a frozen bobbin marked 4, blue 20 and a second frozen 4 below, then purple 50, yellow 10 and orange 30; storage has five empty slots and the track is empty.
- Goal / Target Area
- Clear the black band, the tan panels and the lower diamonds first, then the side and corner panels and the upper diamonds, and finally the yellow clasp and band and the gray stripes around them.
- Opening Moves
- Black 40 from column three and red 20 from column two, then the blue 20 and yellow 10 behind red. Black 40 comes back with 9, and red 20 and blue 20 come straight back full; re-send them at once. Yellow 10 comes back with 10 and parks; dark brown 50 and tan 50 from column two follow, and dark brown comes back with 28 and parks beside it.
- Danger Zone
- Late in the level yellow 10 and black 3 are still parked, and two short returns such as dark red 17 and red 16 make four pieces; storage turns red while the track is full. Take nothing new from supply; re-send the short returns first.
- Unique Mechanics
- Frozen bobbins show a counter instead of a color; it drops while you play, and at 0 the ice breaks and the real bobbin appears. Eight knitted panels on the background carry numbers that fall as their stitches are pulled; the tan 50 panels at the bottom shrink as tan bobbins pass them. No link bars appear in this level.
Storage: the five slots where returning bobbins park until their color is reachable again.
Quick Tips for Level 940
- Column two's yellow 10 comes back with 10 at the start, because the yellow clasp and band sit at the top of the bag behind every diamond. Park it and plan the whole level with four slots; it is only re-sent near the end.
- The frozen bobbins in columns one and three start at 4, and the ones behind them read 2 once the first pair breaks; column two's first frozen bobbin starts at 16, and deeper frozen layers open later. They hold their column until the number reaches 0, so keep the other columns moving instead of waiting for them.
- The tan panels marked 50 at the bottom lose stitches as tan 50s pass them: column two's at the start and column three's after its gray 30. Send each tan bobbin as soon as it surfaces so the panels shrink before the lower diamonds are needed.
How to Solve Yarn Loop Level 940 — Full Solution
- Send column three's black 40 and column two's red 20, then the blue 20 and yellow 10 that follow in column two. Black starts on the black band at the bottom; yellow 10 has nothing to pull yet and comes back untouched. Black comes back with only a little left and red and blue come straight back; re-send those three at once.
- Send column two's dark brown 50 on the bag outline, then the tan 50 behind it on the tan panels at the bottom; each panel's number drops as tan passes. Dark brown comes back with 28 and parks beside yellow 10.
- Leave yellow 10 parked for a long stretch: the yellow clasp and band at the top stay covered until late. Work with the other three slots, and re-send the parked dark brown only when outline pixels sit at the edge.
- Frozen bobbins break when their number reaches 0, and both frozen 4s break together: column three's becomes green 20 and column one's becomes magenta 40. Send the green 20 and column three's orange 30, then column one's dark red 20 and magenta 40. The magenta 40 comes back full; park it until magenta diamonds reach the edge.
- Send column one's purple 50 on the purple diamonds. The frozen bobbins behind the first pair read 2 and break next, on cyan 50 in column one and gray 30 in column three; send cyan 50 on the cyan diamonds and gray 30 on the gray stripes, then column three's tan 50 on the rest of the tan panels.
- Send column three's dark purple 20 on the side bars and the dark red 20s and magenta 30 that surface there. Re-send the parked magenta once magenta diamonds open, and keep two slots free for short returns.
- Column two's frozen bobbins break next, first on white 40 and then on black 40, with a salmon 20 between them. Send white 40 on the white stripes, the salmon 20 on the salmon corner panels and black 40 on the black band; a black leftover parks at 3 until near the end.
- With yellow and black both parked, storage turns red at four pieces again and again (see Danger Zone). Re-send the short red, dark red and purple returns before taking anything new from supply.
- Send column two's blue 30 on the blue diamonds, then its orange 40 and orange 50s on the orange diamonds, and the navy bobbins that follow on the navy patches. Each comes back a little smaller; re-send it each time.
- Once the diamonds below the clasp are gone, re-send yellow 10 from storage. If it comes back untouched, the clasp is not open yet; park it again and retry after the next diamonds go (a yellow 20 sent too early bounces back the same way). Then send the yellow 20s and column one's last yellow 10 onto the clasp and band.
- Gray takes the background last, and the parked black goes back out and returns once more. Send the gray 30s and gray 50s as they surface, column three's green 30 on the last green diamond, and re-send the short navy, orange and dark red returns between them.
- Supply ends with column two's gray 50. Send it as the final bobbin; it pulls the gray stripes on both sides of the clasp, while the orange, green and dark brown bobbins still on the track take the last clasp stitches.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Re-sending yellow 10 while the yellow clasp is still covered; it comes back with 10 and blocks a place on the track each lap.
- Taking new supply while storage is red with four pieces and the track is full; the next return fills the last slot.
- Re-sending the parked dark brown before the bag outline reaches the edge, which turns one parked piece into a returning one that keeps the track busy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do the frozen bobbins do in Yarn Loop Level 940?
Each one shows a number that counts down while you play. At 0 the ice breaks and the real bobbin appears, such as green 20 and magenta 40 first, then cyan 50, gray 30, white 40 and black 40. Until then it holds up its column.
Why does column two's yellow 10 come back untouched in Level 940?
The only yellow is the clasp and band at the top of the bag, and every diamond below has to go first. Leave it in storage until the diamonds under the clasp are cleared, then re-send it.
What are the numbered panels on the background in Level 940?
Eight knitted panels carry counts: salmon 20s in the top corners, dark purple 20s on the sides, lavender 20s below them and tan 50s at the bottom. The tan panels lose stitches as tan bobbins pass; the others count down as their colors are cleared.
